2 cars broken into on Washtenaw Avenue

Two cars were broken into Tuesday on Washtenaw Avenue between Golfside Drive and North Hewitt Road in Ypsilanti Township, police said.

The window of a car parked near the 2700 block of Washtenaw was smashed sometime between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. and a purse containing a wallet and other items was stolen, according to a news release.

A second car had a window that was broken out in the 2900 block Washtenaw at some point between 4:30 and 6 p.m. The suspect or suspects stole a purse containing a wallet and other items.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is investigating the two incidents and said it's not known whether they are related.

If it was Fountain Plaza, didn't this happen last week as well? The Planet Fitness place is there and I'm betting that a lot of college students go in there for workout for a short while and leave their "stuff" in the car, rather than get a locker inside. Just a guess.
