20-year-old Ypsilanti resident scares away would-be intruder

By Heather Lockwood

A 20-year-old Ypsilanti resident scared away a would-be intruder at about 4 p.m. Thursday in the 1700 block of Gregory Street, a police media summary said.

Someone was attempting to kick in the front door of the home when the resident, who was home at the time, “came downstairs and scared him away,” reports said.

A suspect was identified, but hasn't been located, according to reports. Police plan to submit the case to prosecutors for potential criminal charges.

It's not clear how the suspect was identified, and Ypsilanti police officials were unavailable for comment this morning.

OK, if you've got the information, you use the age of the person. But it looks really silly in the headline.
