Air compressor, jewelry and money reported stolen from homes in 6 separate incidents
A thief or thieves stole items from four homes and attempted to break into two others in incidents reported Sunday in Ypsilanti, police said.
Ypsilanti police were first dispatched at 12:30 a.m. to the 200 block of South Grove Street to investigate a home invasion attempt. Deputies said there was damage to the door, but no one got into the residence.
At 2 p.m., police were called to 600 block of East Forest Avenue, where an air compressor was stolen from an unlocked garage during the past week.
At 3 p.m., a resident reported the larceny of a small amount of jewelry at a home in the 400 block of Olive Street.
Police were then dispatched to an apartment in the 700 block of West Clark Road at 7 p.m. An unknown suspect had broken into the apartment and took clothes and money, according to a media summary.
A resident then reported an attempted home invasion in the 500 block of Davis Street at 8:20 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect kicked in the door and ran once an alarm was set off. There was nothing taken.
Ypsilanti police were then dispatched at 9:40 p.m. to a home in the 1600 block of Washtenaw Avenue to investigate a reported invasion. The thief or thieves entered through an unlocked door, police said. A large amount of property was stolen, according to the crime summary.
