Ann Arbor police investigate robbery at CVS Pharmacy on city's north side

By Lee Higgins

Ann Arbor police are investigating a robbery Monday morning at the CVS Pharmacy in the 3500 block of Plymouth Road, a police report said.

A man walked in, asked for a carton of cigarettes, then walked around the counter and pushed a female clerk against a cigarette display area, the report said.

The robber grabbed two cartons and left in a red sport utility vehicle after the 3:58 a.m. incident, according to the report.

The man's SUV struck another car on the way out of the parking lot, leaving minor damage, the report said.

The robber is described as black, 6 feet tall, 160 pounds, between 25 and 35 years old, and was wearing a light blue T-shirt and light blue jeans, the report said.

Anyone with information can call police at (734) 794-6939.

The comments about 24-hour stores were removed because they were generally about whether stores should be open 24 hours and not about that issue as it may or may not relate to this incident.

I have to ask why you would remove comments about 24 hour stores. According to the above report this happened at 3:58 am. Was this female employee in the store alone? If so this becomes a major issue in support of limiting stores to certain hours unless there is more then one person on duty. I do hope the employee is OK and not totally traumatized by this. I was a convience store employee back in the 80's and was attacked at 3 am with a plastic container of milk. Thank god it was plastic or my head would have been busted opened. I refused to ever work that shift again unless there was someone there with me. How many robberies of this nature are not reported by the news. Unless there are 2 or more employees on duty This kind of incident is cause for concern about 24 hour stores.

We removed the entire conversation thread from this story because it was off-topic. This is a story about a robbery, not a story about whether stores should stay open 24 hours a day.
