Ann Arbor police investigating robbery outside Michigan Pain Specialists

By Kyle Feldscher

Ann Arbor police are searching for two men who are believed to have robbed a patient in the parking lot of Michigan Pain Specialists Wednesday afternoon.

Two men approached the patient about 1 p.m. Wednesday in the building’s parking lot, located at 3520 Green Court, and robbed him, according to police. It’s unknown what was taken from the patient or what weapon was involved in the robbery.

Ann Arbor police Lt. Angella Abrams confirmed the robbery Wednesday. More details were not immediately available, as police were still responding to the area.

The suspects were described by dispatchers as black, one man is tall and the other man is short and stocky. The tall man had corn rows, while the other man was between 19 and 21 years old, according to dispatchers. The men left the area in a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo, dispatchers said.

Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call the Ann Arbor police at 734-794-6921.

Most people there are getting injections and treated by doctors for chronic pain. It is a stand alone building with a large parking lot and easy access to freeway however. No different than getting robbed in a large grocery or mall parking lot.

An unfortunate sign of the times. Cash and prescription drugs. They will always be the target of miscreants.

That's not a place that actually issues "pain medication" on the spot is it?

There is a pharmacy in there. In fact, there was an attempted break in last week. I didn't suspect that angle. The folks that come and go from that building are usually older and many times "hobbled" from injury or pain.

I Googled it up and it looks "official".

I can pretty much guess what was taken from a patient just leaving the Pain Specialist.
