Ann Arbor police are looking for the vehicle belonging to a man found dead in his apartment Tuesday evening.

Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said a 58-year-old Ann Arbor man was found dead in his apartment by police at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Stimson Street. Police had been called by a relative to check on the man’s well being, Bush said.

At this point, the circumstances of the man’s death are not clear but police are not treating it as a suspicious death. It’s unknown how long he had been deceased or if anyone was with him at the time of his death.

During their investigation, police discovered a light blue 1999 Ford Taurus belonging to the man was missing. It’s unknown at this point if it was stolen, Bush said.

The Taurus has a dent on the passenger side and primer is showing through on the vehicle’s hood, Bush said. Family members said the man was the sole owner of the vehicle and no one else was known to use it.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the vehicle is asked to call the Ann Arbor police anonymous tip line at 734-794-6939 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP (773-2587).
