Assailants stab Ypsilanti resident after kicking in his door

By Cindy Heflin

A 47-year-old Ypsilanti man was stabbed early Tuesday morning after two men forced their way into his home in the 200 block of North Hamilton Street, police said.

The assailants, believed to be a 47-year-old and 28-year-old, both of Ypsilanti, kicked in the victim's door about 3:25 a.m., police said in a news release. The victim struggled with them and was stabbed in the left shoulder with a small folding knife, police said.

Afterward, the suspects left on foot, and friends of the victim took him to an area hospital, where police interviewed him. Officers went to the area and searched for the suspects but could not find them.

Police said they suspect an argument over drugs may have caused the confrontation. They continue to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Sgt. Tom Eberts at 734-482-9878 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP (773-2587).

Shouldn't be that tough to find a 47 year old and a 28 year old at 4 in the morning!!!!????? Especially knowing they are from Ypsi? How does one know where these small folding knife wielding assailants are from? If one knows their age and locale, wouldn't one also know where to find them or where they live?

Yes it would go for nicotine because it is a drug. Alcohol is not a drug.

Peace and love, brothers, peace and love. This is just a simple misunderstanding over a commercial transaction: it should have been handled by the U.S. Commerce Department. All that's needed is for Congress to pass a free trade agreement covering cocaine, opiates and marijuana, right?

I support the freedom to carry guns but if I think I need to carry it on me in my own home...I am moving.
