Brass pipe fittings reported stolen in Ann Arbor

By Lee Higgins

A box containing an estimated $2,200 in brass pipe fittings was stolen Tuesday morning from a building in the 600 block of West Huron Street, Ann Arbor police said.

The box, which had 30 fittings inside, was taken between 9:45 am. and 9:50 a.m., police spokeswoman Lt. Renee Bush said.

A contractor who was working inside the building had left the box unattended briefly, Bush said. The man who took it was described as white, 20 to 30 years of age, less than 6 feet tall, with a thin build. Police are reviewing surveillance footage of the theft.

Anyone with information can call the police department's confidential tip line at (734) 794-6939.
