A car window was smashed, and an iPod was taken this morning in the 200 block of Harbor Way off South Main Street, Ann Arbor police said.

The car alarm went off about 4 a.m., scaring away the thief, who also attempted to remove the CD player, police spokeswoman Lt. Renee Bush said. The iPod had been left in plain view in the Mercury Sable, Bush said.

Police do not have any suspects.
