Car stolen from parking lot on South State Street

A 1999 Honda Civic was stolen Tuesday afternoon from a parking lot in the 2700 block of South State Street, Ann Arbor police said.
A 58-year-old Ann Arbor woman reported that the silver two-door car with Michigan license plate BHK7322 was taken between 3 p.m. and 3:15 p.m., police spokeswoman Lt. Renee Bush said.
The woman told police she left the car locked, Bush said. Anyone with information can call the police department's tip line at (734) 794-6939.

I walk that route with a small group of women that I work with in the 789 Building and yesterday they were approached by the woman asking them if they saw a Silver Honda drive away. None of them paid attention to the vehicles that passed them, but said that the woman's keys were in her hands. Convenient that Howard Cooper (which sells and works on Hondas) is located right there as well. Did the police consider a mechanic from Howard Cooper that knew the car and how to get in?

oh for pete's sake...not all of us can afford a new car! I have two ten year old cars. One very, VERY old...inherited from an inlaw who passed away, rarely used. Another used to commute to work. When a rich relative croaks, I'll buy me a Prius.
