Car with handgun inside stolen from Ypsilanti apartment complex

A car was reported stolen Sunday morning from an apartment complex parking lot in the 1900 block of Washtenaw Avenue, an Ypsilanti police incident log said.

A semi-automatic handgun, MP3 player and clothing were inside the dark blue 1988 Chevrolet Caprice Classic that was reported stolen about 9:57 a.m., the log said.

The 25-year-old owner parked the car at the complex at about 11 p.m. Saturday and noticed it was missing when he got up the next morning.

Aw common people, the most secure place for your weapon is in your control and/or on your person. Unless the complex was some sort of CEZ this was completely uneccessary.
