Cash, marijuana seized at Peninsular Place apartments
Ypsilanti police officers seized a half-ounce of marijuana, more than $1,400 cash, a scale and other items after executing a search warrant Monday at Peninsular Place apartments on Railroad Street, a police incident log said.
The city's building inspector and maintenance workers were entering apartments to conduct inspections when they say they found the drugs in one apartment about 11:23 a.m., the log said.
A 20-year-old resident returned home, and was arrested and then released. Prosecutors still need to review the case and decide whether to file charges.
According to the log, the inspections were conducted after residents were notified the inspectors would be coming.
