Catalytic converter stolen from van in Ypsilanti Township

A catalytic converter was reported stolen Thursday from a van in the 1200 block of Elmwood Drive in Ypsilanti Township, a Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department media summary said.
The theft occurred between 12 a.m. and 1:05 p.m., the summary said.
Deputies do not have any suspects.

Yes, the stolen rate comparison of the same time period would be interesting...as well as for other crimes.

one catalytic converter stolen off a vehicle in Ypsi TWP and that makes it here. Repoters check into AAPD stats for this week and look into the 5-7 that were stolen from vehicles in the downtown/campus area of A2.

i remember reading there was a rash of catalytic converter thefts in Ann Arbor a few ways back, sure hope it hasn't made it's way to Ypsilanti. Ann ARbor News Staff, was that criminal ever arrested or did the thefts just kind of taper off?
