Clerk tells robber to leave Ypsilanti Township store, deputies say

A man pulled a handgun on a store clerk during an attempted robbery Saturday night in the 200 block of Ecorse Road in Ypsilanti Township, a Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department media summary said.

The man demanded money at about 9:05 p.m., but the clerk told him to get out of the store and then went into an office, the summary said.

According to the summary, the robber was described as black, between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 140 to 150 pounds, and 30 to 35 years old.

Deputies say he was wearing a brown and black checkered coat with a hood and had acne. He left in a silver or red Chevrolet Caprice Classic with large silver rims, the summary said. The handgun was small and gray.

Sounds like a pretty bold move by the clerk, one I think I'd only make with a shotgun in hand. That's a nice detailed description, though. I hope they catch this idiot!
