Copper pipes missing from vacant York Township home

By John Counts

Police are investigating the theft of copper pipes from a vacant home in the 12000 block of Stoney Creek in York Township.

Deputies from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the home Wednesday after receiving a report of a larceny that had occurred there at some point during the prior week, according to a news release.

A realtor visiting the house noticed the basement had been entered. A suspect or suspects cut out numerous copper pipes used for water lines, the release said.

There are no suspects at this time.
