Deputies investigate attempted armed robbery in Superior Township

By Lee Higgins

Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies are investigating an attempted robbery Tuesday night at a home in the 8000 block of Barrington Drive in Superior Township.

A person was approached at the door by two men, one of whom showed a handgun, a sheriff's department media summary said.

The victim yelled for help, prompting the men to leave the area, the summary said. So far, no arrests have been made. Sheriff's department spokesman Sgt. Thomas Pennington could not be reached for comment today.

Anyone with information can call the sheriff's department tip line at (734) 973-7711.

I wonder if the economy was better if the number of armed robberies would be this high in the area?

I can tell you as a retired probation officer that criminals seldom commit crimes out of need. Unless, of course, it's to feed a habit.

"A person was approached at the door by two men" Does this mean the person answered the door and found the two men, or was the person entering the home when they were approached?
