We are always open to ideas from our residents and I would like invite you to contact me directly to discuss your proposal for securing the doors as well as get more detailed feedback on your experience with our Loss Prevention Officers. Please know that we actively communicate with law enforcement and cooperate with local Police in their investigations. We will continue to enlist their assistance for extra patrols at our properties as well as identify individuals who are involved in area crime. Once identified, if those individuals are residents or guests of residents or area residents, we will take active measures to have them removed or trespassed from the community. I welcome the opportunity to discuss your feedback. Thank you very much for your feedback.

Unfortunately at the best of times it can be difficult to uproot a family, let alone in this economy.... Also those living in places prone to these vermin generally do not have the ability to do so. Those that can generally do, my comment hopefully can assist those that can't. A great thread from a great forum on hardening your doors. Very inexpensive tips like door bars and just wood boards that are not permanent and no one would be able to tell from the outside. http://www.defensivecarry.com/vbulletin/carry-defensive-scenarios/95065-break-not-far-my-house-leads-hardening-doors.html.

Nobody will know if the screws are replaced with longer ones. Just because the doors are flimsy doesn't mean you can work around it or fight management for decent doors. I mean isn't there some ordinance or building codes requiring better doors? If you worry about people kicking in your doors especially while you or a loved one is home, find a way.

willmiller82, I couldn't agree more. Back when I lived in an apartment complex, Mckinley bought the entire complex and replaced all the heavy steel doors with cheap flimsy wood ones. Needless to say, I was always cognizant that this could happen after the change.

International dr. is actually aspen chase apartment complex. It used to be called the international apartment complex. I actually live in the 2600 building so these people are probably my neighbors. @ the people who commented earlier, we tennants cant really "reinforce" our doors since mckinley (the company that owns the apartments) would probably charge us an arm and a leg for any "modifications" we made. Its the teenagers and young adults that live in and around the neighborhood that are doing this, they grew up with a mentality that its easier to steal than to go get a job and work for living. Mckinley has security but they dont do squat and the neighborhood really needs to be policed by actual law enforecment since the only thing that is going to stop these youths is if they actually get arrested or they get there butts kicked by some grown men that catch them red handed. Im sure i sound like a cranky old man but im only 27 yrs old.

No just aggravated that - about $4 worth of screws would generally prevent a lot of kicked in doors. - so many kicked in doors ave been in the news of late and that we have articles on things that are much less likely to occcur like plane bombers and tradjedies caused by CPL's on campus. Just trying to get the prevention message out as a public service.

Oh for pete's sake how many "kickked in doors" can there be before people wise up. It's not that difficult or that expensive to harden your doors and homes against these kinds of break ins. AA.com perhaps you or Mr. Kinsey can put up an article to that respect? here's a start for you: http://www.hamiltonpolice.on.ca/HPS/PreventingCrime/Property/Doors.htm
