Diamonds, safes and handgun stolen during break-in
A homeowner lost diamond jewelry, cash and several safes recently in a break-in at an unoccupied home up for sale in Ypsilanti Township.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office reported the home in the 200 block of Hillcrest Boulevard was broken into sometime in the last three weeks. The intruder, or intruders, left no sign of forced entry, and it’s unknown how they entered, deputies said.
Cash, diamond jewelry, safes and a handgun were reported stolen from the home, deputies said.
A witness in the area told deputies a red pick-up truck driven by a man backed into the driveway Tuesday and the witness said the man entered the home, according to the report. He left a short time later and police are not sure if the man is a suspect, investigators said.
Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office’s anonymous tip line at 734-973-7711.

@Kyle, please expand (if you are able) on how long this home was "unoccupied." My home is unoccupied when I am at work or on a vacation. As others have stated, guns, cash, and jewelry are the first things I take with me when I move.

This sounds super sketchy. Don't know about you, but cash, diamonds and the like are the first things I MOVE OUT when I'm leaving.
