Deputies from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office performed a traffic stop on the pickup, the release said. The driver was placed under arrest for malicious destruction of property and turned over to Ann Arbor police.

This is as old as the hills (no pun intended). We used to do this back in high school in the 70's but typically around 2am., when we knew the whole city was asleep and no one would find out. At 6am., dude took a chance. Heck the sun is up by then! I'm curious though. Why did Washtenaw County Sheriff's respond? Did someone call the county wide dispatch and a car from the Sheriff's office was dispatch instead of AAPD? Why? Clearly the golf course is in the city of Ann Arbor. Where were the AAPD patrols? Usually they're right up the road on the curve catching speeders while parked on the sidewalk in the unmarked Dodge Charger catching speeders doing 50 in a 35. But Washtenaw Ave is 40mph?

With a little luck the A2 Attorney will sue for lost revenue damages (after the criminal courts convict, fine and lock him up).

Huron Hills is about the least expensive golf course in the entire county, it's as egalitarian as they come for golf courses.

Tom, you do realize this is a city owned golf and not a country club?

Bad idea, but one way to achieve a long, straight drive!

It's really too bad this kind of thing can't be arranged during live coverage of the Masters and whatnot. I'd pay money to see it.

6 in the morning? Sounds like someone was up drinking all night - or someone just wanted to cause some mayhem before going into work? Or most likely - young, unemployed, pick up truck - you figure out the rest!

Front or back 9? How did he/she think this would go unnoticed? Most of the course is visable from high traffic roads?
