The Eastern Michigan University Police Department is looking for three men in connection to an armed robbery that took place early Sunday in Ypsilanti, according to a release from the department.
The victim, an EMU student, reported that at 12:30 a.m. at Oakwood Street and West Circle Drive, the three males were traveling in an older model beige-colored station wagon, according to the release from EMU police. The front and rear passengers got out of the car and the backseat passenger held what appeared to be a long gun. The victim did not see the driver.
The victim gave his wallet and reported the only things that were taken were a small amount of cash and a check, according to reports. He reported no injuries.
One of the men is described as a Hispanic male, about 5 feet 8 or 9 inches tall, with a thin to medium build, rounded jaw and no facial hair and was wearing a gray t-shirt and black shorts. The other is described as an African-American male, about 5 feet 10 or 11 inches tall, wearing a blue and white bandana across his face and a Detroit Tigers ball cap.
It wasn't immediately clear which of the men held the gun.
The victim could not provide any further details.
The incident was not reported to the EMU Police Department until several hours later.
