A Pittsfield Township resident scared off an intruder Thursday night after the man broke the glass in his front door.
The resident heard the sound of glass breaking in his front door about 9 p.m. at his home in the 4200 Block of Washtenaw Avenue and discovered the man inside, Pittsfield Township police said in a news release. He fled when the homeowner confronted him.
Police searched the area but could not find him. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.
The suspect is a man about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium to heavy build, police said. He was wearing a black winter jacket with a hood.
