The 34-year-old Ypsilanti Township man accused in the homicide of 29-year-old Bhagavan Allen turned himself in Monday, Sgt. Thomas Eberts confirmed.

Leonard Ware was transported to the Washtenaw County Jail and will be arraigned Tuesday, Eberts said.

He presented himself at the Ypsilanti Police Department with an attorney at about 12:30 p.m., a news release said.

Police believe Ware shot Allen on South Grove Street near South Street in Ypsilanti at about 4 p.m. Wednesday following a dispute at work over job performance, AnnArbor.com has previously reported. Huron Valley Ambulance paramedics took Allen to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Superior Township, but he died on the way, police said.

The men worked together at nearby Marsh Plating Corp.

He has no version. He shot the man 9 times, twice in the heart. What version could he have for taking someone's life? "It was an accident?" This was senseless and sadly it ruined so many lives.

Guilt can be a tough thing to live with.

Do you really think someone who would shoot a person in cold blood, then cross the street, stand over the helpless victim and fire several more shots into his defenseless body is likely to experience guilt?

Great news !! How sweet of him to turn himself in. It was obvious he would get caught soon.

Good that he didn't make himself a hunted man, but still sad. Two lives wasted. If only people would realize that you can't destroy another life w/o destroying your own.

And to a large extent, family on both sides.

At least Mr. Ware had the sense to seek out an attorney and to surrender with his attorney present. Would have been great to be a fly on the wall during his talk with his attorney. From here on, we can only speculate about the probable defense strategy.

That is a good thing. Nobody else hurt in the process. May justice prevail.

I'm betting self defense (seeing as the victim was approaching him before he fired shots) and a lighter sentence for turning himself in. But any way you spin it, the guy didn't turn himself immediately. Also he was carrying a concealed weapon (more than likely had no permit to do so) and he stood over the victim and shot him a few more times even after the victim was down.
