Investigator: Killer bludgeoned Ruth Pyne, then stabbed her multiple times
A detective who investigated the death of Ruth Pyne testified her killer likely hit her head several times with a blunt object, then turned her over and stabbed her repeatedly in the neck and chest, the Detroit Free Press reported.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Detective John Jacob testified on the fourth day of the murder trial of Pyne’s son, former University of Michigan student Jeffrey Pyne, 22. Police allege Pyne killed his mother in the family’s Highland Township home in May 2011 after becoming angry about her mental illness.
Pyne, a former high school valedictorian at West Highland Christian Academy, has maintained his innocence.
