Laptop computer stolen during Dewey Avenue burglary, Ann Arbor police say
A laptop computer was stolen during a burglary Friday night at a Dewey Avenue home, Ann Arbor police said.
Someone used a rock to break out a pane of glass on the front door, then reached in and unlocked a dead bolt between 7:40 p.m. and 8:20 p.m., police spokeswoman Lt. Renee Bush said.
The computer was taken from the dining room area, but nothing else was reported stolen, Bush said. Police do not have any suspects.
Anyone with information can call the police department's tip line at (734) 794-6939.

I got a handyman to install a sheet of plexiglass behind the very large window in my side door.

A steel door without windows, sounds like a plan to me. (which I have).

Seems like a good point to remind people to use data encryption, laptop anti-theft/location devices, and consider using laptops simply as a thin client.
