Man arrested after attempted burglary in Ypsilanti Township

By Lee Higgins

A man who attempted to break into an Ypsilanti Township home on Tuesday was arrested after Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies say they found him in a neighboring apartment building.

The man opened a window at a home in the 1000 block of South Harris Road at 12:15 p.m., and the homeowner yelled at him, scaring him away, a sheriff's department media summary said.

Deputies obtained a detailed description of the suspect and found him in the nearby building, the summary said. The 22-year-old Ypsilanti Township man was taken to the Washtenaw County Jail.

Charges are pending.
