Man assaulted at New York Pizza Depot in Ann Arbor

By Lee Higgins

A 32-year-old Lansing man was assaulted early Saturday morning at New York Pizza Depot on East William Street, Ann Arbor police said.

The man was sitting down, talking with a woman at 2:40 a.m. when a man approached and punched him four times in the face, police spokeswoman Lt. Renee Bush said.

The assailant then left the restaurant. It's unclear why the victim was assaulted, Bush said, adding that there was at least one witness.

The victim had a swollen left eye and red mark on his forehead, but declined medical attention, Bush said. Police did not have a detailed description of the assailant.

Anyone with information can call the police department's tip line at (734) 794-6939.

This may not have been a stranger to the woman.....only to the man. Ann Arbor Police will get it sorted out.

To bad the victim wasn't a UFC fighter, this story would have been much more fun to read. What is wrong with people today that they just go up to a stranger and start punching, and then to top it off nobody helped him.
