A man attempted to force open a door at a home in the 900 block of Rue Deauville in Ypsilanti Township on Wednesday while a resident was inside, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies said.

The victim called out to the man, who fled the area, a Sheriff's Department incident summary said. The front door was damaged, but nothing was taken.

The man was described as black, 6 feet, 4 inches tall, clean-shaven and muscular. He was wearing a white baseball cap and white shirt.
