Man accused of breaking into Ann Arbor apartment house
A Farmington Hills man is accused of breaking into a Lawrence Street apartment house Tuesday afternoon, taking a nap in one apartment and then stealing a knife and credit cards from another, Ann Arbor police said.
Jonathan Paul Frontier, 29, was arraigned Thursday at the Washtenaw County Jail on two counts of first-degree home invasion and a charge of unarmed robbery, county court records show.
He is accused of forcing his way inside a 27-year-old woman's apartment and taking a nap on her bed, police spokeswoman Lt. Renee Bush said. When the woman returned home at 4:50 p.m., Frontier told her he was resting and thought he left some items in her room, Bush said.
When the woman told him to leave, he walked into a 20-year-old man's apartment and stole items, including a knife and some credit cards, Bush said.
The man who lives in the apartment and another man showed up at the apartment house after receiving a call from the first victim, Bush said.
The two men confronted Frontier, and a fight ensued, Bush said. One of the men suffered minor injuries, Bush said. According to Bush, officers arrested Frontier as he was walking out of the apartment house.
Frontier is at the jail, held on a $15,000 cash or surety bond, jail officials said.
