Pittsfield Township man charged with armed robbery

By Lee Higgins

A Pittsfield Township man is accused of robbing another man at gunpoint at Glencoe Hills Apartments in the township in September.

Gary Alphonse Brooks, 20, was charged Tuesday with armed robbery, Washtenaw County court records show.

He has not yet been arraigned in court. About 12:26 a.m. Sept. 19, township police said a 27-year-old man was walking in a parking lot at the complex in the 2100 block of Glencoe Hills Drive when three men who were carrying long guns approached him. One of the men told the victim to hand over his money, police said. When the victim pulled out his wallet and cell phone, police said the men took the items and ran east toward Arbor Pointe Apartments.

Pittsfield Township Deputy Police Chief Gordy Schick did not return a phone call seeking comment Thursday.
