By Lee Higgins

A man was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital this morning with non life-threatening injuries after deputies say his wife stabbed him in the chest, a Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office news release said.

The incident occurred about 12:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Hewitt Road in Ypsilanti Township after the couple got into an argument, the release said.

The 42-year-old woman was arrested and taken to the Washtenaw County Jail, police said.

Deputies have not released her name or the charges against her. She will make her first appearance in court later today.

Our prosecutor has already stated for the record that he believes women who assault men in domestic violence situations should not be charged. They have undoubtedly endured previous abuse and are justified in lashing out (slashing out). For once it seems like the police have done the right thing and arrested and jailed the assailant regardless of gender. Let's hope the prosecutor backs them up!! All to many times the women are treated much differently than the men. Remember, justice is supposed to be equal for all. See the story a couple days ago where the man is tasered and the woman is merely taken to the hospital. She started the whole thing by punching the cops in the first place. Thanks to the cops in this case who have finally stood equal application of the law.

Yea, because women never act irrationally and lash out when they don't get their way. Ask Steve McNair how that works out.

As far as the charges go for her I think that the police need to investigate and illiminate self-defense and or domestic violence...
