Man jumps on Ypsilanti police officer and is Tasered
Ypsilanti police used a Taser on a man Monday night after he jumped on an officer at a Pearl Street home, police said.
The 19-year-old man is charged with assault and battery on a police officer and resisting and obstructing, police said.
Officers responded to a disturbance in the street's 300 block at about 9 p.m. Police said a woman slammed the door and punched an officer several times in the face.
As an officer tackled the woman, the 19-year-old man jumped on the officer, then was Tasered, police said.
The woman was taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, police said.

Better they use the taser to subdue than their guns.

The woman is taken to the hospital for evaluation. The man is tasered and arrested. Can you say "double standard?"
