Man robbed at gunpoint in Ypsilanti

A 19-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint as he was attempting to buy drugs near the intersection of West Ainsworth Street and Middle Drive on Monday, Ypsilanti police said.

The victim met up with a man to buy drugs at 7:29 p.m., when the man pulled out a gun and took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim, police said.

The victim was not injured. Police said they have a possible suspect and are looking for him.

That's hilarious... reporting that he was a victim of a crime while attempting to engage in criminal activity. Perhaps the young man should chalk it up as a lesson learned and leave it alone.

I don't suppose anyone has a statistic on drug use and those tthat don't steal? Because i am shocked, shocked at the treatment this 'client' received. I guess the days when repeat customers used to mean something to a dealer are gone...

People who use drugs and who dont steal are not a danger to society. People who use a gun to rob others ARE! As far ar charging this person with "attempted possesion"... Are you that concerned with what someone else does with their own body, that you would want to waste thousands of dollars to prosecute and jail someone? Unbelievable!
