Man suffers head wound after being struck by thrown object

By Kyle Feldscher

A 64-year-old man suffered a cut to his head early Wednesday when someone threw an object at him.

Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said the object struck the man while he was in the stairwell of an apartment complex in the 700 block of Miller Avenue. Police responded to the apartment complex at 3:04 a.m. Wednesday, Bush said.

The cut on the back of the man’s head was severe enough that he needed to be transported to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital for treatment.

At this point, police do not have a suspect in the case. It's not clear what the object was.

Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call the Ann Arbor police anonymous tip line at 734-794-6939 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP (773-2587).

The anti-object lobby is mustering an all out effort to ban these military-style assault objects.

reporter writes headline that describes situation without saying anything

The headline says he was injured after being struck. The first line of the article says it happened "when someone threw an object". My theory is that he was injured slightly after the object was thrown, and concurrently with being struck.
