Man wanted on warrants jumps from moving car; caught after foot chase in Ypsilanti Township
Michigan State Police and Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies caught a man wanted on multiple felony warrants after he jumped from his moving car early Sunday morning in Ypsilanti Township, police said.
Police were trying to stop the vehicle about 2 a.m. on McKinley Road near Hewitt Road when the man jumped out and ran, State Police Sgt. Chris Pascoe of the Ypsilanti post said. Pascoe did not know why police were trying to stop the car.
State Police and Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies eventually found the man and arrested him, Pascoe said. He was wanted on multiple felony warrants.
Additional charges of fleeing and eluding police and resisting arrest will be sought, Pascoe said. The man is being held at the Washtenaw County Jail.
