Manchester man accused of sexual assault headed to trial

By Art Aisner

A Manchester man was ordered to stand trial on sexual assault charges involving a minor.

Court records show Matthew Lehr, 32, appeared briefly in district court to waive his preliminary hearing on three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a child younger than 13.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department has not released more information about the case.

Prosecutors charged Lehr last month after an investigation showed a series of incidents dating back to June 2009. Lehr is represented by the Washtenaw County Public Defender’s office and remains in custody without bond.
