Milan man charged with possessing child pornography
A Milan man is accused of possessing child pornography after Immigration and Customs Enforcement - Homeland Security Investigations agents said they found hundreds of illegal images on his laptop computer.
Anthony Taddie, 32, was charged Friday in a federal criminal complaint with one count of possession of child pornography, court records show.
Khaalid Walls, an ICE spokesman in Detroit, said today he did not have details on when Taddie will appear in court.
According to an affidavit by Special Agent Jason Beever, agents executed a search warrant on Taddie's computer on March 31, recovering about 450 images of child pornography and nine videos of young boys engaged in sexually explicit acts.
The investigation began with a tip from INTERPOL in Washington, D.C. about a possible child pornography website, the affidavit says. Agents executed a search warrant on the website to identify users. That led them to Taddie's home on March 22, where they interviewed one of Taddie's relatives, who gave them consent to search various computers, the affidavit says.
Agents later spoke with Taddie, who gave them permission to search his computer, saying they would find child pornography on it, the affidavit says.
If convicted, Taddie faces a minimum of five years in prison.
