Thief swipes electronics from Ann Arbor apartment as woman sleeps
A 25-year old woman lost more than $800 worth of electronics when someone entered her Ann Arbor apartment through a sliding glass window that had been left open a crack for ventilation early Friday morning, police said.
Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said the woman returned to her apartment in the 1100 block of Nielsen Court at 3 a.m. and cracked the window before going to bed. She woke up at 1 p.m. and noticed a plant that had been on the ledge of the window was moved and dirt was on the desk immediately below, giving the impression it had fallen and been replaced.
The woman then noticed an Apple iPod Touch and an IBM Thinkpad laptop had been stolen, Bush said. The woman reported the break-in to police at 2 p.m. Friday.
There was no suspect information available Monday morning and police are still investigating the incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Ann Arbor police anonymous tip line at 734-794-6939.
