Nickles, dimes and quaters count up. If caught, this person should pay for new meters.

So we should put the perp on a chain gang as punishment for vandalizing parking meters? Sounds logical...

This person probably didn't see cool hand luke. Paul Newman had to do some real hard time for a crime like this. But then again they probably know they will only get a few hours in jail and a new ankle bracelet equipped with gps these days.

Hmm. What was the latest millage vote for Police Services in the City of Ypsilanti? Where are we at with the number of officers on patrol right now? Because it kinda looks like the City just got hit where it counts.

I, for one, am surprised someone would even attempt something like this in public. I mean, you'd have to beat those things pretty hard to get them to toss any spare change at you.

Seems like we've been hearing a lot of news about thieves trying to get coins out of machines in public areas: laundromats, car washes, now parking meters. Back in my day the only vandalism I recall seeing on parking meters was the old marshmallow in the coin slot gag....
