By Kyle Feldscher

A Pittsfield Township resident chased and caught a 44-year-old Ann Arbor man who was attempting to steal items from his car while it was parked in his driveway Saturday morning.

Pittsfield Township police gave details about the incident in the weekly crime summary released Wednesday afternoon. The incident was reported at 5:55 a.m. Saturday in the 3600 block of Hillside Drive when a homeowner noticed a man inside his car, parked in a driveway.

The homeowner confronted the Ann Arbor man and then chased him on foot, according to police. The homeowner eventually caught the man and held him until police arrived on scene.

The man didn’t get anything from the car and was lodged at the Washtenaw County Jail on suspicion of attempted larceny from a motor vehicle.

Can't we just cede this of the township section to Ypsi?

Why don't you cede to Ypsi, whatever that means.

The police can't be everywhere. Glad the Pittsfield Township man didn't get hurt. Thumbs up to this man and thumbs down to the criminal who got owned by a citizen.

Good for this guy having the guts to do this and holding him down. Now its time for the prosecutors office too give the alleged criminal a nice little plea deal of a couple days jail and probation where he will have do drug treatment classes probably for the 20th time in his life. This is called the circle of the criminal justice system.
