Police: 2 break-ins reported in U-M apartments since Friday
University of Michigan Police are investigating two home invasions in the Northwood Community Apartments where doors were kicked in, according to a crime alert sent out Thursday.
The home invasions occurred between 8 p.m. Friday and 8 p.m. Wednesday at two separate apartments in the 1700 block of Murfin Avenue, police said.
Someone kicked in the doors to two apartments and rummaged through the residences. It’s unknown if any items were stolen at this point, police said.
According to a tweet sent out by the department, the incident is similar to off-campus break-ins reported recently. Five home invasions have been reported in Ann Arbor this week.

Obviously, the work of organized B&E groups working the area. I've said this before ... time to consider bars on doors and windows in A2... and/or heavy metal doors for apartments. The B&E activity is getting out of hand.

University of Michigan police stopped using the patch/logo in the picture that accompanies this story approximately 10 years ago. You might want to update your file photos.

Who cares? Typical Ann Arborite -- more worried about "the number of angels and the head of a pin" than the criminal activity noted in the story.

@A2Rasta: The patch/logo on the Twitter account is current. The one I'm talking about is the file photo used by A2.com here: http://www.annarbor.com/assets/thumbnail_cache/2013/02/14/200w_x_200h_cropped_Police_University_of_Michigan.jpg
