Police: Man followed Ann Arbor woman while fondling himself
A woman turned around to see an unknown man masturbating while following her as she walked home Thursday night, Ann Arbor police reported.
Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said the woman was walking north at 8:45 p.m. Thursday on Third Street toward Koch Avenue when she encountered a man walking toward her. Bush said the man said something to the woman, but she ignored him and continued walking home.
The woman felt like the man was following her and turned around to check, Bush said. The woman told police the man was masturbating while walking toward her.
The woman quickly walked away from the area and lost the man, and arrived home before calling police, Bush said.
The man is described as black, bald, wearing glasses, in his late 40s, wearing a white T-shirt and blue shorts, Bush said.
Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call the Ann Arbor police anonymous tip line at 734-794-6930.

A2 attracts the vagrants to their city and then are surprised when things like this happen????

Let's see, does that fit the pediatrician who was watching his young neighbor. He's certainly not a vagrant.

I've been working on Koch Street this week and there has been a constant stream of street people types passing by, I assume they are coming from Wurster Park. Maybe the police sould check out the city parks more frequently?

The issue seems pretty black and white to me.

Interesting. This guy is being labeled as "disgusting" but the guy exposing himself to women along the Huron River is funny and doing something "perfectly normal." Can someone explain this hypocrisy to me? Is it because the image of a black man doing this offends people? Is it because he was following someone? The guy in the nature center was doing the same thing. Is it because he's masturbating, also a perfectly normal (in your own home) activity? Not so funny, is it?

According to the most recent article on the Furstenberg Flasher: "The suspect's description is a heavy-set white male, approximately 50 years old, naked," Bush said.

I'm with snark12 here. I see a very distinct difference in the perceived threat .

Yes, as I said, I'm sure the flasher is getting sexual gratification. But he was described as "an elderly white male with grey hair." http://www.annarbor.com/news/crime/naked-man-appears-out-of-the-foliage-along-huron-river-and-reveals-himself-to-canoeists/ In any case, I think people find it less threatening because 1) age 2) daylight 3) not following.

He was a middle age guy showing his penis to women. He wasn't old. And he knew people would "happen along his path" because he's right next to a river that is typically used by people in canoes, people who typically have their phones in their cars or other safe places, people who can't quickly react or confront him. And just because he wasn't actively masturbating doesn't mean anything. It was obviously sexual in nature, or else it would've been men reporting him too.

I don't think the old guy in the nature area was masturbating, was he? And he wasn't following anyone, was he, just presenting himself to people who came by on the river? Clearly he was getting his jollies, too, but I think people find it funnier because he's an old man doing it in the middle of the day to people who happen along his path. He's not a masturbating man following a woman down a lonely street to her home in the dark of night.

@ Smokeblower, Fred Willard was in an adult movie theatre, not on a public thoroughfare. While not defending Mr. Willard's alleged activities, I really don't think the two events are comparable. Comparing this event to the Fursternberg Frolicker might be more apropos.

"The man is described as black, bald, wearing glasses, in his late 40s, wearing a white T-shirt and blue shorts, Bush said." That sounds like the peeper that we had here a few years ago.
