By John Counts

Police are searching for two men who robbed the Dairy Mart in Ypsilanti Township around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

Deputies from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the store, at 10131 Textile Road, for a report of an armed robbery.

The clerk said he was in a back office when he heard someone enter the store, according to a news release.

"As he walked out of the office he was confronted by two black men, one of them pointing a shotgun at him," the release said. "They ordered him to give them all the store's money and forced him toward the cash register."

The suspects then fled with an undisclosed amount of money. One of the suspects is described as a 6 foot tall black man of medium build wearing a navy hooded sweatshirt, blue mask, black pants and black shoes. The other suspect is described as a 5 foot 10 inch tall black male of medium build wearing a black coat, dark mask, black pants and black shoes.

Anytime I stop at a small party store, If I can't see a clerk from my car I pull out. (who knows if he/she is in the office or lying on the floor) I have seen some pretty brave young women working till 9-10 p.m. (closing time) and there alone. I won't go to this Dairy Mart at 2:30 p.m. let alone 2:30 a.m.

This at least the third time I have read of this store being robbed in recent memory.
