Police seek purse-snatching suspect near Kroger on Carpenter Road
Pittsfield Township police are searching the Carpenter Road retail corridor for a purse-snatching suspect.
According to an updated news release sent at about 3:50 p.m. Monday, police were called to Kroger, 3200 Carpenter Road, at about 3 p.m.
A 78-year-old woman told officers that she had placed her purse on the passenger seat of her car while she was unloading groceries.
The suspect opened the passenger-side door and grabbed the purse, then ran off. Police said he headed north, toward Packard Road, based on witness reports.
The suspect is described as a tall white man wearing a grey jacket with a black hood, a black skull cap and jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call Pittsfield Police at 734-944-4911.
The victim was not injured, police said.
