Police: Thief forced open Burger King drive-thru window and stole coins from donation jar

By John Counts

Police believe someone broke into an Ypsilanti Township Burger King by climbing in the drive-thru window sometime Sunday night and proceeded to steal coins from a donation jar.

Deputies from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were called Monday to the fast food restaurant at 823 E. Michigan Ave. for a report of a burglary, according to a news release.

"The suspect (or suspects) forced open the drive-thru window to gain entry into the business," the release stated. "Once inside they stole coins from a donation jar and then fled the area."

Police do not have any suspects at this time. Further information was not immediately available.

Okay, so hopefully we've reached the low point. I mean coins from a donation box? Next they'll be after the pennies in my loafers! (I don't really wear loafers by the way)

I can almost picture the manager of the BK on Mich & Platt wiping his brow since it was a different store getting the bad press...

Seems like we've been reading a lot of crime stories where Burger King is involved somehow. Does BK attract a certain element that McD's does not?

A King owns this one while only a clown the other one. You have to understand the mind of someone who would do this.
