Washtenaw County police to crack down on drunken drivers during Halloween weekend
Police will be out in force this weekend around Washtenaw County for a drunken driving crackdown, the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department said.
Along with deputies, police from Ann Arbor, the University of Michigan, Pittsfield Township, Milan, Saline and Chelsea will be participating, according to the release.
The enforcement effort will be paid for by federal money. In Michigan, it's illegal to drive with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher.

UofM cops are real. They can stop anyone in violation on roads that are adjacent to UofM property.

I think its a waste of tax dollars when we have judges in this county who let em off with a nothing sentence. The drunks and law breakers in this county know they will get probation unless you murder someone because there is not enough beds at the county jail for anything less than killing someone.

Don't take this wrong, but are UofM cops "real" cops? I know the jokes everyone makes, but do they have policing powers off of campus?
