By Lee Higgins

A 9-week-old pit bull puppy was stolen during a burglary Thursday afternoon in the 8000 block of Nottingham Drive in Superior Township, a Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department media summary said.

Someone opened a garage door and took the puppy between noon and 4:30 p.m., the summary said.

Deputies do not have any suspects.

Sheriff's department spokesman Derrick Jackson could not immediately be reached for comment this afternoon.

Wait about 9 months and the dog will have bitten somebody! I hope the new owners learn to pick up after the puppy. Seems the way people get around picking up after their dog is to walk the dog at night.

Horrible, and totally heartless. A dog is like part of a family. I would never get over it if someone stole one of my kids. That's what they are to me.

they'll find it when the burglers take it in for free sterilization and claim ownership. i'm not holding my breath for that to happen.
