Repeat offender sentenced to prison for exposing himself at Scio Township Meijer store
A Chelsea man was sentenced to between three and 12 years in prison for exposing himself to female shoppers at the Meijer in Scio Township.
Stephen Groening, 37, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated indecent exposure last month.
Stephen Groening
The investigation began after a woman reported seeing him masturbating in his vehicle at the store parking lot on Sept. 18. Detectives say they discovered other instances in which Groening exposed himself at the store at Jackson and Zeeb roads that went unreported.
Circuit Judge Donald Shelton credited Groening with 108 days already served.
It was his second conviction since 2009, court records show. Groening served three months of probation on one count of attempted fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct before the probation was revoked in April. Court records showed he missed mandatory sex-offender treatment.

Nick and Belgium are right! Why are the police refusing to arrest armed robbers? And why can't they prevent their crimes before they even happen? I seen that documentary Minority Report. I know what the cops are capable of nowadays.

I for one don't want to see some dude cleaning the pipes in a parking lot. Are you suggesting we just look the other way and let him continue?

@nickcarraweigh: No doubt, In Ann Arbor, I feel safe knowing I won't be exposed to someone's penis in a parking lot, I just do my banking at an ATM.

Ann Arbor may be the most aggressively policed town its size in the country (and maybe the world) when it comes to serial masturbators, aggressive panhandlers, medical marijuana recipients, campus trespassers and champagne shoplifters. Miscreants of that sort would be well advised to clear out. Armed robbers, on the other hand, seem lately to be welcome.

Okay so 3 years is alot different than 12 years. How does that work? If he is a good boy in prison he gets 3 years, but if he acts out he gets more years? How about 12 years because he just was in trouble with same kind of crap in 2009.

It's a relief that this gentleman won't be grizzlying his adams in front of innocent bystanders for a long while.
