Safe stolen from Ann Arbor business during overnight burglary
A safe containing an unknown amount of money was reported stolen Saturday morning during an overnight burglary at LUV Manicures and Pedicures, according to police.
Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said an employee entering the store, 3365 Washtenaw Ave., at 8:30 a.m. Saturday noticed the lights were on in the building and the alarm was not on. Bush said the lights had been turned off and the alarm activated the night before when the store closed.
The theft occurred sometime between 7:45 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Bush said.
There were no signs of forced entry and the front and back doors were still locked when the employee entered Saturday morning.
Police are still developing suspects in the incident and the safe was the only item stolen from the store.
Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call the Ann Arbor police anonymous tip line at 734-794-6939 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800 SPEAK UP (773-2587).

Smart business owners bolt the safe to the floor.

If it disappears, can it truly be called a safe? Just kidding. Stealing a safe is the easy part. Getting into the thing can be a lot tougher. I once worked at a place that had it's safe stolen probably on average once a year. It was always found and return unopened. Sometimes there were a few new scratches, but it was never opened. One other thing: the boss never left money in it overnight, so it was a pointless theft.

I understand that the communists have been experimenting with using mental energy and powers as strategic weapons. Maybe, just maybe they are getting closer to perfecting their weapon. Could this be the first example? Poof - the alarm goes off. Poof – the safe levitates out the door. Poof – the doors lock.

Well, lights don't turn themselves on nor alarms on, so someone is fibbin' or it's an inside job...

Well, actually, jmac, alarms don't turn themselves on, either, so factual if confusing!

Alarm off...no signs of forced entry....sure looks like an inside job on the outset. Of course someone could also have stolen and copied keys, stolen the code for the alarm....and then left everything as it was just so it looked like an employee was to blame. Yeah yeah......that's enough hardboiled pulp out of me...

It's a coin flip, really -- small safe, or strong suspect.

Yes, because LUV Mani & Pedis take in so much bread they need a gun vault to store all of it. CLIVE OWEN, starred in this movie, but he got away with it. I find it highly unlikely these perp(s) will get away. Nevermind, Estheticians and Cosmetologists are some of the brightest people I know.
