Second man arrested in robbery of Ann Arbor street musician

A second man accused of stealing money out of a street musician's tip bin in Nickels Arcade last month was arrested, Ann Arbor police said.

The 54-year-old Ann Arbor man is accused of grabbing money Oct. 17 from a bin that belonged to a man playing an ocarina, which is a flute-like instrument.

He is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon, Washtenaw County jail officials said.

Adrian Buford, 40, also of Ann Arbor, has already been charged with unarmed robbery and conspiracy, police said.

No other arrests are anticipated, police spokeswoman Lt. Renee Bush said.

cinnabar...are you aware of the fact that the street people target their own first, preferably the drunks...you'll know it when you see it...one drunk bum being "helped" by two or three bums...helping themselves to whatever the drunk has...

Nice to know the nature of people we attract into town due to the Delonis Shelter and the "good heart/empty head" private and social programs AA offers.

Anyone can become a "bum"....ever hear of alcoholism &drug addiction? Trust me... people don't grow up saying,"gee, I think I'll be an addict and homeless." I know quite a few people who've stayed @ the shelter and they are doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc. Everyone needs a little help sometime. Not all are "bums".Some of these college kids are actually starting their "bum-careers" here in our little town w/all the partying(football Saturdays!!!)that goes on. "there for the grace of God go I".We all can't be blessed to be born without the addiction "gene" that can make us "bums". Delonis is a wonderful gift to our community--drop in on a Sat-nite @ 8pm for an open AA meeting and you'll see what I mean.

I don't take issue with any of your points. However, Ann Arbor is awash with the bums dumped on us by surrounding communities, and bums which voluntarily come here (remember the AnnArbor.com story about Mr. Cannabis who freely admits that he panhandles on State Street for dope money, and that he heard about AA's largesse in Key West of all places) because AA provides so many services and freebies to bums.

I'd rather live in a community that offers help & "freebies" than one that turns it's back on it's fellow man.I'll always take that chance.
