Woman found slumped over steering wheel in Northfield Township is suspected of drunken driving
A 29-year-old woman was arrested Sunday, suspected of drunken driving, after investigators said they found her slumped over the steering wheel of a sport utility vehicle in Northfield Township.
About 7 p.m., Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies found the SUV stopped near the road in the 5000 block of Whitmore Lake Road and interviewed the driver, who smelled of alcohol, deputies said.
The driver consented to a preliminary breath test, which revealed her blood-alcohol level was about twice the legal limit, sheriff's department spokesman Sgt. Thomas Pennington said. In Michigan, it's illegal to drive with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher.
The woman, who is from Northfield Township, was taken into custody. Pennington said he did not have further details this morning.
Charges are pending.

Clearly the Sheriff's Department is both overstaffed and overfunded by taxpayer dollars when they feel free to withdraw a patrol vehicle from the highways to process a pointless arrest like this.

If the keys were in the ignition, then she could be charged with OWI. They dont have to prove that she was driving the SUV.

So, she was charged with? Drunken parking? Drunken sitting? Since she is 2X, is she a Super Drunk Sitter?

Well, at least she was stopped. I would hate to think of what might or could have happended If she was still driving on on the road. Details will come soon enough.
